We want people to live a life of purpose and passion. We partner with schools and preschools to provide wellbeing programs, bringing a breath of fresh air in classrooms and spreading calmness and positivity. What Is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is all about being in the present moment; the here and now. Put simply, mindfulness is about paying attention! It’s noticing the things happening around you, as well as what’s happening in your mind and body. It helps you to notice what you need in order to be happy and feel better – which can only be a good thing, right?!

Mindfulness has so many amazing benefits. Evidence-based research over the last 40 years has discovered that mindfulness helps with:

- stress reduction
- reduced anxiety
- reduced severity of depression
- improvement in sleep
- ability to better regulate emotions
- boosted immunity
- improvement in memory and concentration
- increased ability to manage chronic pain

For children, the top 7 benefits of mindfulness are:

Erin Visser

Managing Director

Erin is an experienced primary teacher and has 16 years of experience in the classroom. She began using breathing techniques and guided visualisation to help her own children during periods of anxiety and noticed huge benefits almost straight away. It was only later that she discovered these techniques were a thing – mindfulness!

Erin made the shift in 2018 to focus solely on being a mindfulness educator in schools. Calm Hearts Mindfulness was born after there was a huge increase in demand for mindfulness and wellbeing programs in schools and preschools. Erin is extremely passionate about sharing her ‘tips and tricks’ (as she calls them!) with little and big hearts, and has made sharing mindfulness her life mission. She believes in doing everything with integrity and heart. These values are at the core of Calm Hearts Mindfulness.

Erin lives in the Hunter Valley, NSW, with her husband and their two children. She is a self-confessed stationery-hoarder, book-worm and chocolate lover.
